In order to get credits for the course, please solve the exercises and send me your solutions electronically. We will then have an oral exam in which we discuss your solutions to the tasks of both exercise sheets.
Below is a transcript of the Mathematica session we did during the lecture of May 9.
We guessed a recurrence and a differential equation step-by-step and executed the closure property "plus" for two recurrences step-by-step.
I am not using Mathematica's graphical front end but instead run Mathematica in an Emacs buffer. This has many advantages. One disadvantage is that you can't save sessions in a way that they can be executed again. The file below is just a text file that shows what we did in class. If you want to reproduce the computations, you need to copy&paste the commands one by one into a fresh Mathematica session.
