  • Wildlife in Peru and life in Lima
While living in Lima it is important to make sure you do not leave the tourist safe areas of the city. When in doubt whether an area is safe, please ask your Peruvian study colleagues or your professors. Unfortunately, there are parts of the city that are truly unsafe to enter. Please stay cautious!

Also do not leave your belongings unattended and always carry your small one shoulder bags in front of you.
    From the website: https://visaguide.world/south-america/peru-visa/
    • Do not carry more cash than you need for the day.
    • Do not display expensive belongings, in particular in crowded places.
    • Try not to travel alone at night, and avoid dark streets even if you are in a group.
    • Learn at least some basic Spanish.
    • Do not hang your bag at the back of a chair in restaurants and cafeterias.

The wildlife greatly differs from Mid-Western Europe. Touching some animals or plants or getting bit can lead to severe allergic reactions. Make sure that you travel carefully and take some anti-inflammatory medicine with you and some insect repellents!
