  • General Information

For the Master's thesis in the Master's program in Global Business, you have the option to complete it either with the MGB team (Institute for Innovation Management, ifi) or at another JKU Business School Institute*, such as Strategic Management, Corporate Finance, or International Management. If you choose to work with another JKU institute, please contact the relevant department and inform us of your decision (mgb@jku.at).

*(Note that some supervisors at JKU Business School may prefer that you attend the Master's Thesis Seminar with their institute (e.g., Institute of Strategic Management), while others are more flexible (e.g., Institute of Leadership and Change Management). Be sure to confirm the preferences with your chosen supervisor.)

If you decide to write your thesis with the MGB team, make sure to review this Moodle page thoroughly for detailed guidance.

The following figure illustrates the ideal process for completing a Master's thesis with our Institute of Innovation Management, consisting of six essential steps from topic selection to final completion.

The Master's Thesis Seminar is offered every semester, but it is assigned to different Global Business Tracks in the summer and winter terms. This might be why you're unable to find the course in the course search on KUSSS for the upcoming term. Students can start the seminar in any semester and complete it whenever they are ready to submit their Master's thesis. Our team will automatically assign each student to the Master's Thesis Seminar, typically following the international phase of the MGB program. If you wish to start the seminar during or before the international phase, please feel free to contact us at mgb@jku.at.
